About The Farm

Leigh and Alex

Leigh and Alex Cragg purchased Burilda Park in 2018.

Before their purchase, the 140 acre property was a thriving 1960’s pea and potato farm.

It had since sat as pasture waiting for someone to come in and bring it back to life!

With just a concrete block packing shed on the property, Leigh and Alex put power on and eagerly began developing.

With a thriving horse training and clinic business in town, the next natural professional was to expand!

The homestead and 11 person cottage were the first developments to go in, closely followed by the 10 bay indoor stable block.

Leigh, a diesel mechanic by trade, custom built the complex from the ground up over a 12 month period.

The 60x40 indoor sand area entered the equation in 2021 and again, the wooden elements of the arena were hand placed by Leigh with the shed built locally by ‘Akura’.

Burilda Park began as a souly training stables and breeding barn, and the facilities brought so much life to the farm!

For 5 years, riders from all over the nation come to attend horsemanship clinic events and purchase quality horses.

In 2022 however, after guests (at their own wedding on the farm) began asking if they too could tie the knot on the property - Leighs machinery began to be converted to a wedding barn.

Alex utilised her events and PR/Journalism background to enter into the world of wedding planning, becoming certified that same year.

The barn today, can host up to 140 guests.

Every inch of Burilda Park, both physically and socially, has been hand crafted by Leigh and Alex to welcome amazing humans from all over the nation into what they call their ‘little slice of county paradise’.
